Wall Cupboard

This piece was designed by Christopher Shwarz for “The American Peasant”, and is a beautiful example of simple, elegant, functional, handmade furniture.

Michiel Brouns’ essay on Linseed paint in issue 14 of the M&T magazine was very compelling, and I picked up a can of Allbäck Linseed paint to use on my shop windows. The color (Holkham Green) is absolutely gorgeous and is a pleasure to apply. It also looks fantastic on the two cupboards I’ve painted with it, and has no plastic, chemical driers, or solvents.

The engravings were taken from Shwarz’s example with the exception of the Celtic knot detail on the bottom frame, which I added as a personal touch for the recipient.
